Denis Herron used this stick while defending the Montreal Canadiens' goal during the 1980-81 season.  Herron played in 25 games. the minimum to be considered for the Vezina Trophy at that time, going 6-9-6 with a 3.52 GAA and .878 save percentage.  The 1980-81 season was the only time in the history of the Vezina Trophy that 3 goalies shared the award.  Herron shared the award with teammates Richard Sevigny and Bunny Larocque.  After the season, the NHL changed from the goalie(s) from the team with the fewest goals against to General Manager voting to determine the award winner.
