1973-74 Tony Esposito Stick

Tony Esposito used this stick during the 1973-74 season stopping pucks for the Chicago Blackhawks.  “Tony O” played in 70 regular season games that year, going 34-14-21, with a 2.04 GAA average and 10 shutouts. In the playoffs, Esposito went 6-4, with a 2.88 GAA and 2 shutouts.  At the end of the regular season, the Hawks and Philadelphia Flyers finished tied with the fewest goals against, meaning for the only time in the history of the award the Vezina Trophy was shared between goalies from different teams.  Bernie Parent and Esposito shared the award, this being Esposito’s third and final Vezina of his career.
