Lorne “Gump” Worsley won four Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980. With the expansion of the NHL in 1967, and the creation of the West Division, the Prince Of Wales Trophy was given to the team that finished in first place in the East Division, during the regular season. Worsley and the Habs went on to win the Cup in 1968.  The front plate is engraved reading “H.R.H. PRINCE of WALES TROPHY LORNE WORSLEY” and the back plate reads “N.H.L. CHAMPIONS WINNERS 1967.68 CLUB DE HOCKEY CANADIEN”.  Worsley took home his second and final Vezina of his career in 1968, sharing the honors with Rogie Vachon.
