2015-16 Braden Holtby

Braden Holtby donned this jersey during the 2015-16 NHL season for the Washington Capitals.  Holtby played in 66 games, tying Martin Brodeur’s NHL record of 48 wins while only losing 9 games in regulation and 7 in overtime or shootout.  He finished with a 2.20 GAA, .920 save percentage, and 3 shutouts, leading the Caps to the Presidents’ Trophy.  Regular season success did not lead to playoff success as the Capitals were eliminated in the second round by the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Holtby went 6-6 in the playoffs, with a 1.72 GAA, .942 save percentage, and 2 shutouts.  For his efforts, Holtby was awarded the first Vezina Trophy of his career.
