Jim Carey used this stick for over 20 regular season and playoff games during the final months of the 1995-96 NHL season while tending goal for the Washington Capitals.  Carey played in 71 regular season games, going 35-24-9 with a 2.26 GAA, .906 save percentage, and 9 shutouts.  5 of those shutouts came with this stick. In the playoffs, the Capitals could not get past the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round.  For his regular season efforts, Carey was awarded the 1996 Vezina Trophy, the only win of his career.
