1983-84 Tom Barrasso

Buffalo Sabres jersey worn by 18-year-old Tom Barrasso during his first year in the NHL.  Barrasso was drafted #5 overall in the 1983 draft and made the jump straight from Acton-Boxborough High School to the Buffalo Sabres.  During his first year, Barrasso played in 42 games, going 26-12-3 with a 2.84 GAA and a .894 save percentage, sharing goaltending duties with Bob Sauve.  In a short playoff stint, Barrasso played in 3 games, going 0-2 with a 3.45 GAA.  For his efforts, Barrasso was awarded the 1984 Vezina Trophy and Calder Trophy, given to the NHL rookie of the year.
